David Toms PGA Championship Win | 2001 Tournament Highlights
The 83rd edition of the PGA Championship was held for the third time at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Duluth, Georgia and was won by David Toms with a -15 under par. This was Toms' first major title win and his 265 total set a record for the lowest score at any major to that point. Toms shot a 66, 65, 65 and final round score of 69 to finish just one stroke better than runner-up Phil Mickelson at -14. The two battled in the final round and tournament wasn't decided until the final hole when Toms was able to save par after having to lay it up in front of the water hazard. Steve Lowery came in 3rd at -12 under par.
